Hull FC Secure Promising Young Star Jack Charles with Two-Year Contract Extension
With only one win so far this season, Hull FC knew drastic action was necessary. While their struggles have been well-documented, the club has already begun the process of building towards the 2025 campaign. With a head coach in place for next year, their rebuilding efforts are well underway.
The Black and Whites have already confirmed the signings of John Asiata and Jordan Abdull for 2025, and Jed Cartwright has joined the club with immediate effect. They join recent arrivals Ben Reynolds, Tom Briscoe, and Yusuf Aydin, who have bolstered Hull FC’s roster mid-season.
Alongside their recruitment drive, the club has also focused on retaining key players. Logan Moy, Davey Litten, and Lewis Martin have all signed new deals to extend their stay beyond the 2024 season. Now, another talented young player has agreed to remain with Hull FC beyond 2024.
In a statement on the club’s website, Hull FC announced that 18-year-old half-back Jack Charles has signed a two-year contract extension, keeping him at the MKM Stadium until at least the end of the 2026 Betfred Super League season. Charles, who was recently named in the England Academy squad, expressed his delight at the opportunity to represent his boyhood club.
Hull FC’s Director of Rugby, Richie Myler, believes that Charles is “one of the brightest young half-backs in the game” and is thrilled to have him commit his future to the club. Myler acknowledged that the transition to the senior environment hasn’t been easy for the young playmaker, but the early signs have been promising, and the club is excited about his potential.
With the addition of experienced players like Jake Trueman and Jordan Abdull, Charles will have the opportunity to learn and develop under their guidance, further enhancing his prospects for the future.
