Hull FC Bolster Ranks with Loan Signing of Leigh Leopards’ Ed Chamberlain
In a strategic move to strengthen their roster, Hull FC have secured the services of Ed Chamberlain on a month-long loan from Leigh Leopards. The 28-year-old outside-back, who has made only three appearances so far this season, will now join the Black & Whites’ setup in a bid to provide important experience and depth to the squad.
Chamberlain, who signed for the Leopards in 2022, has an impressive track record, having scored 21 tries in 52 games for the club. He has also taken on kicking duties on occasion. The versatile player has represented Ireland at two World Cups and has previously plied his trade with Widnes Vikings and Salford Red Devils.
“The loan move will provide Chamberlain with the opportunity to gain valuable playing time at the top level, which aligns with the interests of all parties involved.”
- Chris Chester, Leigh Leopards’ Head of Rugby
The experienced outside-back is expected to link up with the Hull FC first-team squad in the coming days, ahead of their Betfred Super League Round 9 fixture against Leeds Rhinos on Sunday. This loan signing is likely the first of several reinforcements that new Director of Rugby Richie Myler may oversee at the club in the weeks ahead, as the team looks to turn their fortunes around following a recent string of heavy defeats.
