The 2024 Rugby League 1 Season Fixtures Revealed
As the countdown to the 2024 Rugby League 1 season continues, the full fixture list has been unveiled, featuring 90 games across 23 rounds.
Due to London Skolars’ withdrawal, the third tier will now comprise nine clubs, including the resilient Newcastle Thunder, who have overcome significant financial challenges to remain in the competition.
Each of the nine teams will face off against the other eight clubs in home and away fixtures, with a further four ‘loop’ games totaling 20 matches per team, mirroring the structure of the Super League.
The ‘new boys’ joining the League 1 ranks in 2024 are Keighley Cougars and Newcastle, both of whom were relegated from the Championship last year. Oldham, led by Sean Long, are the pre-season favorites to top the division, having made some high-profile signings, including ex-New Zealand international Elijah Taylor.
“The opening round kicks off on March 17, with Keighley Cougars hosting Cornwall and Midlands Hurricanes visiting Rochdale Hornets, among other fixtures. The season will conclude on September 1, with a full slate of matches on the final day.”
Fans can look forward to a thrilling campaign as the clubs vying for promotion to the Championship battle it out over the course of the 23-round schedule.
