Rugby League Update: Catalans Dragons Secure Key Forward’s Future
The Catalans Dragons’ 2025 Super League squad is starting to take shape, with several player movements confirmed. It has been announced that Jordan Abdull will depart the club at the end of the current season, with Hull FC reportedly interested in bringing him back to England. Additionally, Tom Johnstone and Mike McMeeken will also leave the Dragons, joining Wakefield Trinity and an undisclosed destination, respectively. Winger Tom Davies is set to join Hull KR next year, though his future move is yet to be officially announced.
Amidst the flurry of departures, the Dragons have moved to secure the long-term future of one of their key French internationals. In a statement released today, the club confirmed that forward Jordan Dezaria has signed a two-year contract extension, keeping him at the Gilbert Brutus Stadium until the end of the 2026 season.
“It’s a real honour to be able to wear this shirt and to defend the club’s colours. I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead and to contributing to the success of the club.”
- Jordan Dezaria
Dezaria, 27, is a product of the Dragons’ academy and made his Super League debut in 2016. After spells with Leigh Leopards and Toulouse Olympique, he returned to the club in 2021 and has since established himself as a crucial member of the squad, making 22 appearances last season.
Head coach Steve McNamara also voiced his pleasure at retaining Dezaria, noting his devastating ball-carrying ability and the important role he will play in the team’s future progression.
The news comes as a boost for the Dragons, who have struggled to maintain their early-season form in recent weeks. Sitting four points off the top of the Super League table, the club will be hoping Dezaria’s continued presence can help them regain their momentum and mount a strong challenge for silverware.
