Castleford Tigers Bolster Squad with Loan Signings
In a bid to turn around their challenging start to the Super League season, Castleford Tigers have been active in the transfer market, securing the services of two players on loan.
Earlier this week, the Yorkshire-based club announced the arrivals of Hull KR duo Corey Hall and Louis Senior, who have joined the Tigers on season-long loan deals to strengthen their backline.
Building on this, Castleford have now further bolstered their forward pack with the signing of Sam Eseh from Wigan Warriors. The six-foot four-inch prop has joined the Tigers on a two-week loan agreement.
“Eseh, a Leeds native, had been recovering from a hamstring injury but is now ready to gain valuable match fitness at his new temporary home. Wigan boss Matt Peet believes the move to Castleford will provide the perfect opportunity for the young prop to perform at the highest level.”
Castleford’s Director of Rugby Operations, Danny Wilson, expressed his delight at securing Eseh’s services, stating that the addition of the powerful forward will help provide more presence to the Tigers’ pack, which has been hit by injuries and suspensions.
With the team still searching for their second win of the season, the arrival of Eseh, as well as the earlier loan signings, will be a welcome boost as Castleford look to ignite their Super League campaign.
