Castleford Tigers Secure Tex Hoy’s Future with Two-Year Contract Extension
Castleford Tigers have announced the signing of a new two-year deal with full-back Tex Hoy, keeping the Australian speedster at the club until the end of the 2026 season.
Hoy initially joined the Tigers on a deal until the end of the current campaign, after being released by Hull FC earlier this year. However, the 23-year-old has quickly impressed during his short time at The Jungle, scoring two tries in his five appearances so far.
Hoy’s Seamless Integration into Castleford’s Backline
The talented Australian has seamlessly integrated into Castleford’s electric backline, which includes the Senior twins, Innes and Louis, as well as centres Sam Wood and Corey Hall – three of whom are also signed beyond this season. Hoy’s new contract ensures he will be part of the Tigers’ long-term plans as they look to build on their impressive start to the season.
Castleford’s Commitment to Retaining Young Talent
Castleford’s ability to secure Hoy’s services for an extended period highlights their commitment to retaining their young homegrown stars, as well as their astute recruitment of overseas talent. The club’s statement praised Hoy’s immediate impact, with two assists on debut and a try against both Leigh and his former club, Hull FC.
