Castleford Tigers and Wakefield Trinity Battle for Corey Hall’s Permanent Signing

Castleford Tigers and Wakefield Trinity Vie for Corey Hall’s Permanent Signing

In a surprising turn of events, both Castleford Tigers and Wakefield Trinity have expressed interest in securing a permanent deal for Hull KR’s versatile player Corey Hall, according to a report by Love Rugby League.

Hall, who is currently on a season-long loan with Castleford, joined the club as part of a swap deal that saw Jack Broadbent move to Rovers and Louis Senior head to the Tigers. However, the Tigers are now actively working on the possibility of making Hall’s loan a permanent arrangement, facing stiff competition from their local rivals Wakefield.

Interestingly, Wakefield have also identified Hall as a potential target, despite the player leaving the club just a year ago as part of another swap deal that saw Will Dagger join Trinity in exchange for Hall’s move to Rovers.

As Wakefield prepare for their anticipated return to Super League in 2025, they have held talks about the prospect of bringing Hall back to the club on a permanent basis.

Whether Hall will ultimately leave Hull KR remains to be seen, as he is still under contract with the Robins until the end of next year. When the loan move to Castleford was initially arranged, Rovers coach Willie Peters suggested that Hall’s desire to play in the centre position was behind the decision, hinting at the possibility of a return in 2025.

As the race for Hall’s signature heats up, both the Tigers and Trinity are actively engaged with Rovers to explore the potential of a permanent deal.
