Rugby League Power Rankings: Oldham Climb into Top 10 as Wigan Maintain No. 1 Spot (15/04/2024)
Each week this season, Love Rugby League has been bringing readers our Power Rankings, where we rank the top 10 clubs in the British game based on their recent on-field performances.
In our latest update, Oldham have made an impressive return to the top 10, sitting at 10th place after winning all four of their opening League 1 fixtures. Meanwhile, Wigan Warriors have held on to the top spot following their 60-6 thrashing of Castleford Tigers in the Challenge Cup quarter-finals.
Elsewhere, Widnes Vikings and Keighley Cougars have both climbed one place, while Catalans Dragons have dropped five spots after their shock 34-6 defeat to Huddersfield Giants in the Challenge Cup. The Giants themselves have moved up two places to 6th.
Wakefield Trinity and Warrington Wolves have also shot up the rankings, sitting 5th and 4th respectively, with Warrington’s victory over league leaders St Helens a particular highlight. Sheffield Eagles remain the highest-placed non-Super League club in 3rd, while Hull KR have climbed to 2nd.
“It’s been an enthralling start to the season across the different divisions, and our Power Rankings reflect the ebb and flow of form and momentum among the 35 clubs. With plenty more rugby league action to come, the battle for the top spots is sure to intensify in the weeks ahead.”
