Bradford Bulls Bring Back Legendary Coach Brian Noble After Decade-Long Hiatus

In a move that has sent shockwaves through the rugby league community, the Bradford Bulls have announced the return of Brian Noble as their head coach for the 2025 season. This marks the iconic figure’s comeback to the coaching ranks, a full decade after his last role as a head coach.

Noble, who made nearly 400 appearances for the Bulls as a player, went on to coach the club between 2001 and 2006, during which he led them to an impressive haul of nine major honors. This includes three Super League titles, three World Club Challenge victories, two Super League Leaders’ Shields, and a Challenge Cup. Widely regarded as one of the greatest coaches in the sport’s history, Noble was named the Super League Coach of the Year in 2003 and also coached the Great Britain national team between 2004 and 2006.

Excitement and Determination for Bulls’ Resurgence

After leaving the Bulls, Noble went on to take charge of Wigan Warriors, Crusaders, and Salford Red Devils, departing the latter in 2014. The 63-year-old veteran has since held consultancy roles, including a stint with the now-defunct Toronto Wolfpack. His return to the Bulls’ hot seat comes as a surprise, replacing the outgoing Eamon O’Carroll, who left the club earlier this month to join an unconfirmed Super League outfit.

In his comments on the shock announcement, Noble expressed his excitement at the opportunity, stating, “I am really excited. I’ve been a part of what’s been going on behind the scenes for 18 months and you have to say we’re on an upward trajectory.” He emphasized his sole mission of guiding the Bradford Bulls back to the Super League, a goal he believes is well within reach despite the financial constraints the club faces.
