Speaking to Sky Sports reporter Jenna Brooks, Arthur discussed the details of his short-term contract, his plans to instill a new culture of accountability and high standards, and his excitement to work with key players like Brodie Croft. The new Rhinos boss emphasized that he is approaching this role with a clean slate, eager to help the talented squad unlock their full potential.

“I’m up for a new challenge, taking myself out of my comfort zone, and for the moment it’s for the rest of this season,” he said.

The biggest challenge, according to Arthur, will be ensuring the players consistently meet the standards and expectations he plans to set around “attitude, effort, and physicality.” He believes the squad has significant talent but must learn to hold each other accountable.

Regarding the club’s goals for the remainder of 2024, Arthur made it clear that a playoff berth is the objective. “We’re one win out of the top six, so we need to make sure that this team consistently challenge against the good teams week in, week out. We can’t hide from the fact that we want to be playing finals (playoffs), that’s why I’ve come here.”

Among the players Arthur highlighted was former Man of Steel Brodie Croft, whom he believes can help “take this club to the next level” with his experience from the Melbourne Storm system. The new head coach emphasized his eagerness to get to know the entire squad on a personal level, stressing that it’s a “clean slate” as he seeks to instill a more professional culture.
