Adam Swift Shines at Huddersfield Giants: Match Highlights and Impressive Streak

Adam Swift has enjoyed a stunning start to life at Huddersfield Giants, carrying over his rich vein of form to his new club after arriving in the off-season from Hull FC.

On Friday night, the self-proclaimed ‘pretty boy on the wing’ helped Huddersfield to a famous 30-24 win at Headingley against Leeds Rhinos. Swift scored a try and had an outstanding game, adding to his impressive tally of 14 tries in 10 games for Ian Watson’s side this season.

“Adam Swift has been outstanding since he joined us. He’s finishing chances and you can’t under-estimate the importance of having a winger who can sniff out a try. He’s something that we needed, and something top teams should have in terms of speed and finishing.”

Despite being kept quiet in the first half, the 31-year-old winger found his groove after the break, scoring a 64th-minute try. His deft offload then sent Harvey Livett over, and further tries from Kevin Naiqama and Adam Clune in the final nine minutes sealed Huddersfield’s first victory at Headingley in six years.

The win was further vindication for Swift’s decision to join the Giants, with centre Esan Marsters also proving largely unstoppable. Swift praised his team-mate, saying, “Esan is having an outstanding season. He’s a threat with the ball in yardage and is playing some unreal rugby.

The success at Headingley was Huddersfield’s fifth straight win in all competitions, and the Giants will look to build further momentum heading into their Challenge Cup semi-final against Warrington Wolves on May 19.
