Adam Doueihi Transfer Rumors: Super League Move Looms for Wests Tigers Player

In the Mix: Adam Doueihi’s Uncertain Future and Potential Super League Move

In May, reports emerged that off-contract Wests Tigers player Adam Doueihi had only been offered a minimum salary deal, sparking speculation of a potential move to the Super League. Doueihi, who has amassed 87 NRL appearances and represented Lebanon in two World Cups, has found himself out of favor at the Tigers, with former Leeds Rhinos man Aiden Sezer and the incoming Jarome Luai, who the club will pay $1.2 million per year, ahead of him in the pecking order.

According to Sydney Morning Herald’s Michael Chammas, the Tigers have offered Doueihi a near-minimum wage deal worth just $150,000 (approximately £78,000), a figure that is well within the reach of several Super League clubs who could benefit from an overseas stand-off. Chammas noted, “It seems like a low-ball offer. He is only 25 years old and he has been one of the Tigers’ better players when he has been on the field.”

With the Tigers’ CEO Shane Richardson reportedly in England to offload players, including England international John Bateman, despite recent reports of Bateman’s desire to remain in Australia, several Super League clubs may look to capitalize on Doueihi’s uncertain future.

Three Super League Destinations for Adam Doueihi

  1. Castleford Tigers: The Tigers have made several re-signings for 2025 but are yet to secure many new additions. Doueihi’s experience and versatility could be a valuable asset, as the club’s current half-back pairing of Rowan Milnes and Jacob Miller has not clicked as expected.

  2. Hull FC: The Black and Whites are in dire need of reinforcements and have been linked with a move for Doueihi’s teammate, Jayden Sullivan. However, with Doueihi’s lower price tag, he could be a more affordable option to help spark the club’s spine.

  3. Leigh Leopards: Leigh are set to lose numerous overseas players, leaving them with quota spots available. Signing Doueihi to partner Lachlan Lam in the halves could be an excellent use of one of those spots, while also allowing Matt Moylan to remain at full-back.
