The Super League Announces Player of the Month for March
In an exciting conclusion to four rounds of intense Super League action, the league has named its Player of the Month for March. The nominees, hailing from six different clubs, showcased exceptional performances that captivated rugby league enthusiasts.
Leeds Rhinos’ Lachlan Miller was among the standouts, capping off his excellent month with two tries against the Castleford Tigers in Rivals Round. His defensive prowess, exemplified by a crucial tackle on Matty Lees, also played a pivotal role in the Rhinos’ three wins out of four league games in March.
Another new signing, Niall Evalds of Hull KR, earned a nomination for his impressive displays on the wing. Initially a fullback at Castleford, Evalds made a smooth transition to the new role, before reclaiming his familiar position in the second half of their loss to Warrington Wolves, a position he has since retained and excelled in.
The prolific Tom Davies of the Catalans Dragons scored three tries in the last three games of March, contributing to the Dragons’ near-perfect month. His stellar performances have sparked speculation about a potential move within Super League, underscoring his rising stock.
However, it was Salford’s creative spark, Marc Sneyd, who emerged as the deserving winner of the Player of the Month award. Sneyd amassed an impressive 37 points across the four games, starring in Salford’s narrow 17-10 victory over Hull KR and their 24-20 triumph over reigning champions St Helens. His flawless kicking display, including five conversions, a penalty, and a try, proved to be the difference-maker in these closely contested matches.
The Super League’s decision to crown Marc Sneyd as the Player of the Month for March is a testament to his outstanding contributions and the pivotal role he played in Salford’s successful campaign during this period.
