Rugby League Star Jordan Abdull Faces Hamstring Setback for Catalans Dragons
In a setback for the Catalans Dragons, their English half-back Jordan Abdull has been sidelined due to a hamstring injury. Abdull, who joined the French club in a surprise loan move ahead of the 2024 season, leaving Hull KR, sustained the injury during their Round Seven Super League win over St Helens.
The 28-year-old playmaker, known for his impressive skills and talent, has struggled with injuries throughout his career. During his four-year stint at Hull KR, he failed to play more than 16 games in any season, making a total of just 55 appearances.
According to the club’s injury update, “The scans have revealed that he has injured the biceps femoris muscle in his left hamstring. His recovery will determine his availability.”
With this being yet another hamstring issue for Abdull, the recovery timeline is uncertain, but it is likely that the Englishman will be sidelined for weeks, if not months, a significant blow for the Dragons. The club’s recent Challenge Cup defeat was made even more challenging with the absence of Abdull, though the return of Jayden Nikorima provided a ready-made replacement.
The upcoming game against Abdull’s former club, Hull KR, will be a notable one, as the Robins travel to Perpignan. This match will be televised on Sky Sports, giving fans the opportunity to follow the action and the impact of Abdull’s absence on the Dragons’ performance.
As the Super League season progresses, the Catalans Dragons will hope to have their key playmaker back on the field as soon as possible, as they look to maintain their strong start to the campaign and challenge for top honors.
