Rugby League Results: Hull FC’s Woes Continue as They Set 25-Year Record
Hull FC’s struggles in the 2024 Super League season continued on Sunday, as they suffered another defeat to leave them joint-bottom of the table. The Black and Whites were unable to overcome the reigning champions, Wigan Warriors, falling to a 22-4 loss.
Despite a better performance compared to last weekend’s loss against London Broncos, Hull FC couldn’t find a way to secure the win. The defeat marks the 20th time they have lost a Super League fixture this season – a record they last set 25 years ago in 1999, when the club was known as Hull Sharks.
“With just four games remaining in the 2024 campaign, Hull FC cannot equal their previous record of 25 losses in a single season. However, their current win percentage is on track to be the lowest in Super League history.”
The loss against Wigan Warriors leaves Hull FC 11th in the league table, level on points with London Broncos, who suffered a home defeat against Leigh. This is the seventh time in the modern era that Hull FC have lost more than 15 games in a single league season, and the second consecutive year they have reached this unwanted milestone.
Over the last 50 Super League games across two seasons, Hull FC have managed just 13 wins, a concerning statistic for the club and its supporters.
