Sky Sports Confirm Second Exclusive Super League Fixture for Round 25
In a highly anticipated move, Sky Sports has unveiled their second exclusive broadcast pick for Round 25 of the Super League season. The top-of-the-table clash between the Wigan Warriors and Hull KR will take center stage on Friday, September 6 at 8 pm BST.
This announcement comes just days after Sky confirmed that the Warrington Wolves’ showdown against St Helens at Halliwell Jones Stadium would also be an exclusive Sky Sports fixture that weekend. The Warrington-Saints match, initially scheduled for Friday, has been pushed back to the following day at the broadcaster’s request, much to the dismay of both clubs’ supporters.
However, there will be no such changes to the Wigan-Hull KR fixture, which is poised to be a crucial encounter in the race for the League Leaders’ Shield. The two sides are currently level on 34 points after 22 league games, with the Robins holding the advantage on points difference.
“Only two matches per Super League round will be shown on Sky’s mainstream channels, with the remaining four fixtures available on the dedicated Sky Sports+ platform. The two exclusive picks will receive a 30-minute pre-match buildup, while the other four games will have a condensed 5-minute preview.”
The complete Round 25 schedule is as follows:
- Friday, September 6
- Castleford Tigers v Leigh Leopards (8 pm)
- Wigan Warriors v Hull KR (8 pm) – Exclusive Pick
- Leeds Rhinos v Hull FC (8 pm)
- Saturday, September 7
- Warrington Wolves v St Helens (3 pm) – Exclusive Pick
- Salford Red Devils v Catalans Dragons (6 pm)
- Sunday, September 8
- Huddersfield Giants v London Broncos (4 pm)
