Rugby League Standout Tristan Sailor to Join St Helens in 2025
Australian rugby league player Tristan Sailor has confirmed his move to the English Super League club St Helens, signing a two-year deal starting in 2025. The Brisbane Broncos star’s decision was heavily influenced by the advice of his former Dragons teammate, club legend James Graham.
Sailor, who can play both fullback and five-eighth positions, beat out competition from other Super League suitors, including Hull FC and Leigh Leopards, to secure his place with the reigning champions. The 22-year-old is eager to learn and improve his game at the highest level, stating, “I want to learn as much as I can and play top-flight footy.“
The young talent also hinted at the possibility of extending his stay in England beyond the initial two-year contract, saying, “If I go over there and enjoy it, I might want to stay.” Sailor’s move will see him join forces with international standout Jack Welsby, with the two expected to compete for the fullback and five-eighth roles during pre-season.
“He is a club legend there and he told me about the history of it and how passionate the fans are, similar to the Broncos,” Sailor revealed.
The opportunity to experience the English game and explore a new part of the world also factored into Sailor’s decision.
The Rugby League World Cup fixtures in 2025 will undoubtedly be a significant event for Sailor, as he seeks to cement his place in the Australian national team and potentially make his debut on the international stage. With his move to St Helens, the young star is poised to showcase his talent on the best rugby league platform.
