Zak Hardaker Eager to Join “Club Like Hull FC” in 2025
Veteran rugby league star Zak Hardaker has confirmed his move to Hull FC, starting in the 2025 season. The three-time Super League champion revealed that an offer from a “club like Hull FC” was one he simply couldn’t pass up.
“When a club like Hull FC wants to bring you in, you tend to sit up and listen, and I’m really excited to join a club like this for 2025,” said Hardaker. “The MKM Stadium has always been a place I’ve loved to come and play at, so I’m looking forward to be calling that my new home ground from next season.”
LoveRugbyLeague exclusively reported the Airlie Birds’ interest in the 32-year-old back in May, and now, almost two months later, Hardaker’s signature has been officially announced. The versatile back will join Hull on a two-year deal, becoming the sixth different club he has represented in the British game, including an 11-game stint in the NRL with Penrith Panthers.
Hardaker will make the move to the MKM Stadium alongside Leigh captain John Asiata, who has signed a three-year contract with the Black & Whites. New Hull FC boss John Cartwright will also have Salford Red Devils hooker Amir Bourouh and playmaker Jordan Abdull at his disposal from 2025.
The England international, who has over 350 career appearances under his belt, joined Leigh in 2023 as they rebranded as the “Leopards.” Now, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season, Hardaker admits he was excited by Hull’s offer as soon as he heard about it.
Hull’s Director of Rugby, Richie Myler, had high praise for the club’s newest recruit, stating: “Zak has achieved almost everything there is to achieve in the sport – he is a winner, and we’re hoping he can become one of our key figures over the next couple of years.“
