Super League Team of the Week: Round 14 Standouts Shine Across Six Clubs
After a captivating round of Super League action, the Love Rugby League team has finalized its Team of the Week for Round 14. This selection was particularly challenging, with a number of outstanding individual displays across the league.
Leading the charge is Leigh Leopards’ Matt Moylan, whose crucial role in his side’s 10-2 victory away at Catalans Dragons earned him the fullback spot. The Australian was at the heart of Leigh’s attack, kicking six of their 10 points and making a team-high 118 metres.
Wigan Warriors winger Liam Marshall was another standout, scoring both of his team’s tries in their narrow 10-8 win at Castleford Tigers. The flyer made an impressive 187 metres, cementing his place on the wing.
In the centres, Hull KR’s Peta Hiku and Salford Red Devils’ Nene Macdonald shone brightly. Hiku scored twice and made 157 metres in the Robins’ 32-6 thrashing of Huddersfield Giants, while Macdonald crossed for the opening try and made 103 metres in Salford’s 25-14 victory at Warrington Wolves.
The wing position is occupied by the legendary Ryan Hall, who became the Super League’s all-time top try-scorer with a brace in Hull KR’s win over Huddersfield. St Helens’ Moses Mbye was a driving force behind their 52-6 defeat of London Broncos, scoring a try and grabbing two assists.
Salford’s Marc Sneyd earns the scrum-half spot after a stellar kicking display, scoring 13 points and providing the assist for Deon Cross’ try in the Red Devils’ win at Warrington.
In the forward pack, Leigh’s Tom Amone, Hull FC’s Herman Ese’ese and Cam Scott, and St Helens’ James Bell all make the team, with Frankie Halton of the Leopards completing the lineup.
