Wigan Warriors Secure Dominant Victory over Salford Red Devils
On Sunday, Wigan Warriors secured a 26-6 victory over Salford Red Devils, leaving them just behind league leaders St Helens on points difference. This was the Warriors’ fourth consecutive win, and it featured several impressive individual performances.
Love Rugby League was present at the Salford Community Stadium to witness Wigan’s dominant display. Jai Field showcased his speed and defensive prowess, while Abbas Miski and Adam Keighran also made significant contributions, with Keighran scoring the opening try and kicking four goals from four attempts.
“Liam Marshall was in superb form, producing a memorable hit on Salford’s Chris Hankinson in the second half.”
Bevan French and Harry Smith combined well in the halves, with Smith’s game management and kicking proving crucial as the weather conditions deteriorated in the second half.
In the pack, Brad O’Neill, Luke Thompson, and the impressive Junior Nsemba all had standout performances. Nsemba, the 19-year-old towering prospect, continued his rapid development, scoring a try and asserting his physical presence.
Liam Farrell maintained his consistently high standards, while Ethan Havard stepped up in the absence of the suspended Kaide Ellis. The bench players, including Kruise Leeming, Patrick Mago, Tyler Dupree, and Harvie Hill, all contributed positively when called upon.
This victory sets Wigan up nicely for their Challenge Cup final appearance at Wembley, which is less than two weeks away.
