Former St Helens Winger Regan Grace Chooses Bath Over Super League Return
In a surprising turn of events, former St Helens rugby league winger Regan Grace has reportedly rejected opportunities to return to the Super League in favor of extending his contract with Premiership club Bath.
The 27-year-old Grace left rugby league and the Saints at the end of the 2022 season to pursue a career in rugby union, initially signing with French club Racing 92. However, a serious Achilles injury prevented him from making a single appearance for the club before being released.
Earlier this year, Grace secured a rehab contract with Bath, and he has now allegedly been given an extension to that deal after impressing in recent trial matches against Gloucester and Leinster. Interestingly, reports suggest that Grace turned down several approaches from Super League clubs to instead commit his future to the English Premiership side.
“During his time with the Saints, Grace had established himself as one of the premier wingers in rugby league, scoring nearly 100 tries for the club after making his debut in 2016. Nevertheless, Grace has now reportedly snubbed opportunities to return to the rugby league world, preferring instead to focus on carving out a name for himself in the 15-a-side code. The gifted winger is now expected to make his competitive debut for Bath as early as next weekend, if selected to feature against Exeter in the Premiership.
