Rugby League Roundup: Wigan’s Loan Moves and Squad Update
In the latest Super League news, Wigan Warriors coach Matt Peet has confirmed that forwards Sam Eseh and Tiaki Chan will be heading out on short-term loan deals.
Prop Eseh will be returning to Castleford Tigers, while versatile forward Chan will spend the next couple of weeks with Hull FC. Peet explained that the loan moves will provide much-needed game time for the duo, allowing them to stay fit and showcase their abilities, should Wigan need to call upon them.
Peet also provided an update on the Wigan squad ahead of their clash with Huddersfield Giants this weekend. Veteran prop Mike Cooper is set to be named in the 21-man squad after missing last week’s win over Catalans Dragons due to concussion protocol. Additionally, off-season recruit Sam Walters, who made his return from a broken collarbone for the reserves, will also be included in the squad for the trip to the John Smith’s Stadium.
“We are excited to see Sam Walters back in action and integrated into the Wigan team. I have no doubt he will bring something valuable to the squad once he’s given the right opportunity.”
- Matt Peet, Wigan Warriors Coach
The Wigan coach remains confident in the potential of both Eseh and Walters, believing they will be long-term successes for the club.
