Undefeated Quartet Shines in 2024 Super League Season
Keanan Brand’s Impressive Cameos
Keanan Brand, the former Love Island star, spent time on loan with Bradford Bulls and Widnes Vikings but was only called upon for two Super League games by Leigh Leopards. However, the utility back played a pivotal role in the Leopards’ 26-0 victory over Salford Red Devils at Magic Weekend and their 32-12 triumph against London Broncos the following week. Despite being the unused 18th man in Leigh’s play-off semi-final defeat to Wigan Warriors, Brand recently made his international debut for Ireland in their win over Scotland.
Wigan Warriors’ Rising Stars
Wigan Warriors’ 20-year-old winger Jacob Douglas also made two Super League appearances in 2024, emerging victorious on both occasions. He featured in the Warriors’ 19-18 win at Warrington Wolves in June and scored a try in their 22-4 victory against Hull FC in August. After stints on loan at Bradford and Barrow Raiders, Douglas is believed to have secured a new deal at The Brick Community Stadium for 2025.
Joining his Wigan teammate, Tom Forber played a significant role in the Warriors’ Grand Final triumph against Hull KR at Old Trafford. The young hooker featured in 10 Super League games over the course of the season, winning every single one, including his first senior try for the club against Catalans Dragons in August. Forber, now 21, also made seven appearances on loan at Barrow.
Leeds Rhinos’ Teenage Sensation
Rounding out the quartet is Leeds Rhinos starlet Ben Littlewood, who is still a teenager, with his 20th birthday not until January. The 19-year-old back-rower made a sole appearance at the senior level in 2024, coming off the bench in the Rhinos’ 30-4 Super League victory against Wigan at Headingley in August. Prior to that, Littlewood had featured three times on dual-registration for Halifax Panthers and been an unused interchange for Leeds in their win against Leigh.
“These young players have shown incredible talent and resilience to remain undefeated throughout the 2024 Super League season. Their performances are a testament to the depth of quality within the league and the bright future of rugby league in the UK.” – Rugby Analyst, Sky Sports
